A stroll on the beach one hazy Sunday lead to this painting. I wondered the conversation this couple were having. The lady seemed jolly and coaxing, the man, with his head down, less so as though he were contemplating her words. It intrigued me…was she asking him to stay and he was feeling guilty? Is he hiding something from her that he just can’t bring himself to say? Perhaps he was plucking up the courage to propose..?! Who knows…I just HAD to save the moment on canvas.
24″ x 18″ on canvas, painted in oils.
